Jesus is the Reason for the Season

It’s the Christmas season.

I love this time of year.

I love babies and I love seeing and hearing all about Jesus coming to us as a baby. I can only imagine all the ladies wanting to kiss his little baby cheeks and smell his sweet baby smell. I can hear all the wonder.

“What is he going to look like?”
“Who is he going to take after?”
“What habits will he get from who?”

All the while his sweet young little mommy knew that he was going to be great and her heart was going to break because of it. I always love this time of year but I also always feel for Mary. Being a mom, I can only imagine what her heart was going through. However, I know that she loved Jesus very much. Just like a mother loves her baby! And for that… I thank her.

Please remember that during this season … Jesus Is The Reason

L Christmas and other weekend happenings

Saturday it was time to officially start hunting for J. He got up to get in the tree stand before daylight. I got back in the bed once he was gone. Early isn’t my time of day. He didn’t see anything. It looks like I am going to have to go hunting in order to make the deer move. You notice how much power I think I have.

J then went to buy Christmas presents for me. I bought for him on Black Friday because I was just good like that this year. I did about 60% of our shopping on that day. We were done pretty early this year. I’m proud and happy that I wasn’t out in the cold Saturday. Period.

Saturday night was J’s family Christmas. Not the immediate family – the extended family. The family that you don’t see except for when (or if) you go to the gathering every year. It went well, I think. We actually had a good time. Santa Clause showed up. Prince was dreading it until he saw that his “girl” cousins weren’t afraid. Princess was a different story. She wasn’t going near “Big Red.” I could feel her shaking while she had her head on the table.
That is something that we never pushed onto our kids. We never took Prince to take pictures with Santa. The pictures of screaming kids sitting on Santa’s lap never put a smile on my face. Inwardly I’m wondering why the parents thought that picture was worth it. It just isn’t that cute to me. I always knew that Prince would scream or would never even get close to sitting on Jolly Ole St. Nick’s lap. We never pushed him and (sadly) we don’t have any pictures of Prince and Santa… Well, until this year. He finally got into a picture with his cousins. Let me tell you – he still didn’t sit in his lap.

After the Christmas get-together, we made it home to settle in for the night. I was ready. My head was KILLING me with a major degree of pain. (I’ll tell you about my head problems at a later date.) But I was breathing for bed time. And it didn’t take long for me to get to dream land.

Sunday was church day. We went to Sunday school and Church. After that we ate lunch and watched some of the Saints game. (We are huge football fans around here.)

We spent the rest of the afternoon at J’s grandma’s house. We have realized that we need to spend more time with her. We don’t see her as much as we need to and who knows how long she will be here with us.
I made the mistake of not spending enough time with my Mother’s mom. She’s dead now and I wish that I just had one more day with her. Let me tell you … If you have a grandparent that is old, spend as much time with them as possible. They won’t be here forever and you’ll spend the rest of your days missing them.

After getting home, we just got ready for another week. The kids played as loud as possible. J was trying to ‘not’ dread Monday’s arrival. I was fighting a headache as was silently praying for bed time to come fast.

*Other news*
I haven’t told you how the show went. – We didn’t sell a thing. Not one plaque. Not one piece of jewelry. But I absolutely loved it!! I was so happy to be there. It was a coming to dream moment. I have wanted to do a craft show and I finally got to! I was beyond thrilled to be there. I cared that I didn’t sell anything but I loved the opportunity to be there. It showed me that I wanted to do more!

I got my Silhouette Cameo this weekend. I’ve got to learn how to use it more and then I will be posting a lot of finished products! I’m excited!!

That’s it for this past weekend. Here we go to a busy busy week!

I'm back! and my new blog schedule

I’m back ya'll!!
Hey you guys! Well, hey to you that are reading this little blog right now.

I’ve been thinking a lot and I am fixing to get on a schedule with this blog. I want it to pick up. I want it to make a little bit of money. I am having a hard time finding a job right now. (I am going to be brutally honest on here.) No one is wanting to hire me and I really don’t understand. SO… I am going to spend my ‘free time’ finding things to talk about on this blog.
I’ve set up a tentative schedule. I say tentative because, who knows, it may change. Oh who am I kidding? It will change some over time. I’ve got to get my groove in this thing. And I’d really appreciate any suggestions or feedback that you may have to help me out.

So here is the schedule as of today…
Mondays – I will give a recap of our weekend. I still want my family to be private but I am going to talk about us and things that we have going on. I need this blog to kind of be a diary for me too. I will post pictures but I won’t post real names. (I am K. My husband is J. My son is Prince. My daughter is Princess.) Yes, that is cheesy but I came up with that a long time ago so, I am going to stick with it.

Tuesday – This will be my spiritual day. I love Jesus, my Savior. I am the adopted daughter of God and I am beyond happy about that. I love my Father and I love to share things that I see him doing in the world. There will be variety of things on this day that I will post.
Wednesday – This is the day that I will share pictures and random thoughts. Again, you never know what will appear on this day. I assure you, my mother will be happy on this day. She is huge picture lover. All my life, she has had a camera in my face and now, because we know how crazy genes work, my children have to suffer the same thing. I warn you, my daughter gets it worse than my son.

Thursday – I love to read blogs. Since reading blogs, I have grown obsessed with starting my own. On this day, I will link to blogs that I read and I hope that you will leave comments about blogs that you read. I like reading new blogs and getting to know new people as well.
Friday – This day will sort of wrap up the week and write out what is coming up the next week. I’m not sure what all will be posted on this day but, you never know. I may surprise you.

That is all for today. I just wanted to drop in and tell you my schedule and say that I’M BACK!!
Well carry on an I hope to talk with you soon!

accepted

Yes. You guessed it by the title of this post.

MY APPLICATION WAS ACCEPTED!!

I am beyond excited. I've got this week and all of next week until the show. My very first craft show. You can imagine my smile. :)

But that is all I have at this point. I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving. I did. My little family and I had a lovely time of togetherness while everyone was home on break. It was nice to stay up late and sleep late. That is what time off is all about, right? Well, we think it is anyway. And we don't regret it a bit.

But now we are looking forward to Christmas. Jesus' birthday party is what we are looking forward to as much as the presents from Santa! I love this time of year!!!

That's all for now.

new jewelry & mailing my app

Today it is official. I've sent in my application for my very first craft show.
O M Gosh!
I'm a bit excited!

I'm also a bit excited about Black Friday coming up in just a few days. I don't know if I've ever been this excited for Black Friday. Something has happened to me. I must have the Black Friday Fever or something.

So anyway. I've worked on some more jewelry today. And I am so excited about some pieces. I've only taken a 'group' picture of what I've done.

But I'm excited. As I said before.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you continue to do so.

on the search for a new cutting machine

Many years ago I got a Cricut. It was the small one. I have loved it and I have used the fire out of it. Due to it being so old, it doesn't work as well as it use to though. I can't use it for big projects or anything - just little stuff that I can do really quick.

So now.. I'm looking for a new one. I'm also looking for a bigger one.

I initially thought I wanted another Cricut. Maybe the Cricut Expression. I started searching for a good deal on one and the price was always just a little higher than I wanted to pay for it.

So then I did what any other internet shopper does. I did my research! I found out that the Cricut isn't what I want to go with this time around.

Now I'm moving on to a Silhouette Cameo.

I'm so excited!!!

I am praying that the Silhouette website will have a black Friday deal on the Cameo. I am waiting to see!

In other news...
I have several projects that I am working on and I am going to be really busy starting tomorrow. I will be posted some photos of finished products also. So please come back and visit to see what new is for sale at J+K Creations.

{Q&A time}
I am curious to know... Do you have a cutting machine? What kind do you like best?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
