Saturday it was time to
officially start hunting for J. He got up to get in the tree stand before daylight.
I got back in the bed once he was gone. Early isn’t my time of day. He didn’t
see anything. It looks like I am going to have to go hunting in order to make
the deer move. You notice how much power I think I have.
J then went to buy
Christmas presents for me. I bought for him on Black Friday because I was just
good like that this year. I did about 60% of our shopping on that day. We were
done pretty early this year. I’m proud and happy that I wasn’t out in the cold
Saturday. Period.
Saturday night was J’s
family Christmas. Not the immediate family – the extended family. The family
that you don’t see except for when (or if) you go to the gathering every year.
It went well, I think. We actually had a good time. Santa Clause showed up.
Prince was dreading it until he saw that his “girl” cousins weren’t afraid.
Princess was a different story. She wasn’t going near “Big Red.” I could feel
her shaking while she had her head on the table.
That is something that we
never pushed onto our kids. We never took Prince to take pictures with Santa.
The pictures of screaming kids sitting on Santa’s lap never put a smile on my
face. Inwardly I’m wondering why the parents thought that picture was worth it.
It just isn’t that cute to me. I always knew that Prince would scream or would
never even get close to sitting on Jolly Ole St. Nick’s lap. We never pushed
him and (sadly) we don’t have any pictures of Prince and Santa… Well, until
this year. He finally got into a picture with his cousins. Let me tell you – he
still didn’t sit in his lap.
After the Christmas get-together,
we made it home to settle in for the night. I was ready. My head was KILLING me
with a major degree of pain. (I’ll tell you about my head problems at a later
date.) But I was breathing for bed time. And it didn’t take long for me to get
to dream land.
Sunday was church day. We
went to Sunday school and Church. After that we ate lunch and watched some of
the Saints game. (We are huge football fans around here.)
We spent the rest of the
afternoon at J’s grandma’s house. We have realized that we need to spend more
time with her. We don’t see her as much as we need to and who knows how long
she will be here with us.
I made the mistake of not
spending enough time with my Mother’s mom. She’s dead now and I wish that I just
had one more day with her. Let me tell you … If you have a grandparent that is
old, spend as much time with them as possible. They won’t be here forever and
you’ll spend the rest of your days missing them.
After getting home, we
just got ready for another week. The kids played as loud as possible. J was
trying to ‘not’ dread Monday’s arrival. I was fighting a headache as was
silently praying for bed time to come fast.

*Other news*
I haven’t told you how the
show went. – We didn’t sell a thing. Not one plaque. Not one piece of jewelry.
But I absolutely loved it!! I was so happy to be there. It was a coming to
dream moment. I have wanted to do a craft show and I finally got to! I was beyond
thrilled to be there. I cared that I didn’t sell anything but I loved the
opportunity to be there. It showed me that I wanted to do more!
I got my Silhouette Cameo
this weekend. I’ve got to learn how to use it more and then I will be posting a
lot of finished products! I’m excited!!
That’s it for this past
weekend. Here we go to a busy busy week!
